Findings - Timo Weiland Hand knit sweater

Hand Knit Trench sweater from Timo Weiland
WHY: My computer is showing right now a temperature of 19 degrees Fahrenheit, which to me is just not a temperature suitable for people! Humans should not live in this cold... (sorry Alaska but i don't get it...). The only way to survive this is layering (especially if you run in and out as i do all day) as much as you can and with the heaviest pieces you can find, which most times means sacrificing style for comfort (to be honest i don't) but this big heavy knitted sweater is the ultimate solution, its heavy, big, warm and super cool and stylish.... it looks so comfy that all you want to do is cuddle into it wrap yourself inside of it like a blanket and sleep....it makes sense why bears sleep all winter ha????
INFO: 100% virgin wool, made in Uruguay, double breasted button front, front pockets, waist tie.
PRICE: $539.00
WHERE: Forward by Revolve

The cardigan sweater - what to choose and how to wear?

Converse by John Varvatos
My first memory of a cardigan is of my grandfather, he wore them quite a lot. He had some that were thinner in solid color that he wore at times under suits and some that were chunkier with big textured leather buttons that he wore out on on its own or under a jacket or even just at home to keep him warm. My guess is that almost everyone who is reading this have somewhat a similar memory to that of their grandparents, after all the cardigan is known as the grandpa sweater! My second memory happened many years later when Kurt Cobain sport the cardigan look, i especially remember the time when Nirvana played their MTV unplugged and he was wearing this green/yellowy vintage looking one over T jeans and snickers....that was Grange in its best (and also one of the greatest moments of Rock if you ask me...).
Amy way enough of my memories. The cardigan is a great item for transitional weather when temperature changes through out the day and layering is in order. I like that its easy to incorporate it into your day with any style whether you go casual or more dressy like Pep Guardiola (the Barcelona manager shown below) sporting it under a suit.
Pep Guardiola in action and style....
Now days there a lot of cardigan style to choose from, from a classic with leather buttons to a zip-up with cardigan and much more. below are some of the main styles you should concider:

My style journal - week six

This week I went for casual cool.... simple and comfy!
I love these pants , I made them about 5 years ago as an army color version of jeans. I used to make these jeans that always had some knee patches with stitching and padding details, inspired by motorcycle pants. Over the years, all the washes and the wearing made the details on the knees and back pockets to look even better while the fabric gotten softer, making the pant age very well. They work well with boots or snickers like the leather converse. The converse style in my opinion is the simplest yet coolest sport shoe that was ever made. When i was a teenager

My Style journal - week four

This week's look is taking on a more tailored feel.....maybe I was subcutaneously influenced by Paris fashion week???

This week I'm wearing:
Sweater - Boaz
Pant - Boaz
Scarf (Silk/wool) - Guy Laroche
Coat (Wool) - Boaz
Shoes - Juno New York

Paris fashion week - Autumn/Winter 2010-2011

Well....in a short delay of few days here are my top favorite looks from last week's Paris fashion week. The mood here was again of designers showing and doing what they do best. The general look was more tailored with a technical futuristic chic, more like a sophisticated sportswear which made the clothes very practical and wearable (fall orders were boost up to 15% according to WWD). The Key look was the tailored pants tucked into military/workwear lace up boots that almost every collection had a variation of those....

My favorite collection was Lanvin - lead by the Israeli born designer Alber Elbaz and men's designer for Lanvin Lucas Ossendrijver, this collection had a tech touch to very wearable silhouettes with exquisite attention to detail and finishing – The new Matrix wardrobe!

You can always count on Paul smith for tailored twisted classic looks and COLORS!

and count on Raf Simons to always push it....

Not many knitwear as we saw in Milan but the Raf Simmons one with a sophistication to perfection... and the detailed scarf and sweater from Jean Paul Gaultier's boxer are enough for me...

Variations of the trench coat.....Dries van Noten, Tim Hamilton, Jean Paul Gaultier

Patch your jackets up!.... Luis Vuitton, Raf Simmons

Now all that is left is to wait......for next year!!!

Inspired by the chunky knitwear shown in this last Milan fashion week, a Roberto Collina army/brown cable sweater is all i needed to keep me warm while adding a rich and luxurious touch to a pretty casual look. Paired with a long and soft cashmere scarf (a gift i got 3 years ago, thanks again to my mother in law...) to spice up the color,...and off we go......my outfit of the week!

This week I'm wearing:
Short nylon coat - Cold Method
Cashmere scarf - Andrea Fenzi
Sweater - Roberto Collina
Corduroy boot leg pant - Boaz
Shoes - Juno New York

Milan Fashion week - Autumn/winter 2010-2011

I meant to post this last weekend but my Internet service decided it needed a break from me….so in a short delay of few days here are my 6 favorite looks from last week’s Milan men's fashion week. The impact of global economy showed its signs and had most designers go back to their roots and signature looks showing them in a relevant and updated ways. Not much of a futuristic and adventuress looks, just simple, good looking and wearable pieces for a cold weather, with emphasis on outerwear where overcoats and chunky knitwear being Key items..... what else can a man ask???

The Burberry show was by far my favorite!
For more on the show check out my previous post..... what an amazing collection of overcoats, to watch and droooooooooooooooool....

BURRRRRRRRRRRRRR........... the Moncler and Thom Browne collaboration....

Big and chunky knitwear...Gianfranco ferre, Dolce & Gabbaba, John Varvatos

Dsquared's Rocky Horror show............

Sleek Rock & roll......... John Varvatos, Neil Barret

A "Traditional" look from Etro... I Love purple, the color of royalty! ...and look at these shoes.....

see you soon with Paris men's fashion week......
