My style journal - week ten - Creative Black Tie

This weekend our good friends got married and the dress code called for "creative black tie"...so i wanted to share with you my version of it. I made this jacket as part of a purple velvet suit (purple is one of my favorite colors, especially a deep shade like the one on this jacket) that i wore to my wedding almost 5 years ago, but since than i didn't have a chance to wear it again until this weekend. When i tried it on last week i wasn't as crazy about the pants so i paired the jacket with these black silk pants (that are part of a silk suit i made my self about 6 years ago) and i really liked the combination, it worked out perfectly, right?
The shirt is a BOAZ design as well, and is a fitted (with no darts) white Egyptian cotton twill shirt that i made about a month ago and that was it's debut..... BTW as we speak I'm working on having that shirt along with some of my other men's shirts designs available to buy online, so stay tune for that....

How to color your wardrobe for spring!

Spring time is here...YES! it is my favorite time of the year (probably has to do with the fact that it's my birthday season...) ... After a long cold and gray winter, finally the sun is shining and the rainbow is out and it's time to celebrate with COLORS! And what better way to express it than brighten up your look with funky shoes, but since not everyone is comfortable wearing color shoes when it comes to sneakers i think that even the most conservative guy will feel comfortable throwing colors at his feet, so my first spring advise is......

Milan Fashion week - Autumn/winter 2010-2011

I meant to post this last weekend but my Internet service decided it needed a break from me….so in a short delay of few days here are my 6 favorite looks from last week’s Milan men's fashion week. The impact of global economy showed its signs and had most designers go back to their roots and signature looks showing them in a relevant and updated ways. Not much of a futuristic and adventuress looks, just simple, good looking and wearable pieces for a cold weather, with emphasis on outerwear where overcoats and chunky knitwear being Key items..... what else can a man ask???

The Burberry show was by far my favorite!
For more on the show check out my previous post..... what an amazing collection of overcoats, to watch and droooooooooooooooool....

BURRRRRRRRRRRRRR........... the Moncler and Thom Browne collaboration....

Big and chunky knitwear...Gianfranco ferre, Dolce & Gabbaba, John Varvatos

Dsquared's Rocky Horror show............

Sleek Rock & roll......... John Varvatos, Neil Barret

A "Traditional" look from Etro... I Love purple, the color of royalty! ...and look at these shoes.....
