My style journal - week thirteen - Sunday Brunch

This fall season is my kind of fall....nice weekend with temperature in the mid 50's and the sun is out! Perfect weather for layering which is what i was going for in here, i was on my way to brunch and just piled up few pieces together not knowing how cold or warm will it be outside and i think it all came together pretty well regardless of the mishmash of colors and textures and despite the strong bright color shoes....
Do you think so too???

This week I'm wearing:

Pinstripes vest - BOAZ
Cotton button down shirt - NSF
Gauze scarf - H&M

Spring 2011 NY Fashion week - Duckie Brown

When i think about spring (especially living in NY) i think about the arrival of the worm weather ...of summer ...which  means bright colors are taking over the grey dark colors of the long and cold winter (am I'm making it clear enough how much i "love" the cold weather???), so for me every time i seat down to think about inspirations for spring collections this is the first things on the list.....but a week into NY fashion week i must say most of the men's collections had winter color stories like grey, black and navy with lots of army tones so on that end the Duckie Brown collection managed to separate itself from all the rest. Just like their inspiration called for, the collection was filled with prints, stripes patterns and clearly....lots of happiness, all mixed together in the different looks which at times looked refreshing and at times just too busy for me. The silhouettes were Eastern influenced with long shirts buttoned all the way up and asymmetrical drape-y sheer knits all fused with western minimalism....interesting but not really my personal taste.

Spring 2011 Inspirations

Fashion week in NY starting today and I'm sure a lot of you out there are always wondering and curious about the inspiration for the collections so when i saw that  WWD posted some of the inspirations being used for spring 2011 I thought i"ll share with you five designers/inspirations that i thought it will be interesting to follow and see how they will be translated into clothes... and once fashion week is over I'll post the results....
Good luck to all the designers this week....and give us something to remember!

Findings - Memorial weekend shopping

This Memorial day weekend did not just bring in the summer but also some great sales (well at list for my wife and i....) We had some of the greatest finds that we had in a long time and in prices that were about quarter of the original retail prices.... Sale Sale Sale....LOVE IT! So off course i want to share findings with you...these will be great to include in my style journal posts over the summer....The first stop was Bloomingdale's, actually i was there last week and over heard that there is a sale coming up over the weekend so i took my time to prepare for it, walked around trying things on and planing my future purchases, and let me tell you that plan worked perfectly...

As usual and (as i mentioned million times before) I just CAN NOT resist shoes...  these beauties in shocking blue are from Florsheim by Duckie Brown, and to be honest i am not so crazy about their shape because i usually like my shoes thinner and less bulky but the color...oh man the color! .....talking about a summer statement!... and for $70.56... my  blue suede shoes!
