Style icon of the week - Lenny Kravitz

When it comes to rocker style (which i personally love) the first person who comes to mind (nowadays) is Lenny Kravitz! Over the years he established himself as the definition of Rocker style - fitted pants, fitted T's, leather jackets and boots (he likes them with hills), while accessories such as sun glasses (day or night time), scarves, fur pieces and off course jewelery are always welcome...
Although it sounds like a pretty straight forward style for a rocker what's sets Lenny Kravitz apart from the other God knows how many rockers out there is that he knows how to put it all together and do it in a sophisticated way while still making it look natural and comfortable. That takes an eye for a style, a strong personality to follow your heart and a creative mind which it looks like he was blessed with all three, add his good looks to the mix (and maybe lots of work out), and the end result is a consistent, strong individual and inspiring style. Kravitz has founded a design firm named Kravitz Design, stating if he hadn't been a musician he would have been a designer.....
For me it all started with his music (we picked his song You Belong To me as our wedding song, the bass line

Fall style - The motorcycle jacket

Pendleton at Opening Ceremony
I got my first (and actually my only one so far) motorcycle jacket about 20 years ago in India out of all places.... I was traveling there after my army service  and one day i went into a leather store in Delhi and had my eye on this black leather asymmetrical motorcycle jacket but since i was a tourist the guy at the store thought i should cover his annual sales and gave me a price that scared me away, but as i was making my way out of the store he kept on dropping the price to about fifth of the original offer ....so i went back and tried it..... the true is that i really had no intention of getting this jacket and that's why i walked away....but i guess it had my name on it!The motorcycle jacket got its big break into the fashion books after Marlon Brandon wore it in 1953 as Johnny Strabler in the movie The Wild One.
Marlon Brandon in The Wild One
Shortly after and over the years it was adopted as the classic rock n roll jacket portraying a rebellious image with a  rockish/punk/metal, bad boy bad ass feel (which off course made almost every

Fall style - The bomber jackets

JOHN VARVATOS STAR USA
Known also as a Flight jacket the bomber jacket is a piece that originally was created for pilots. It was started in WW I (it s amazing to think of how many great styles and garments were created in the two world wars....), when airplanes did not have an enclosed cockpit, which necessitated a garment that could keep pilots sufficiently warm (can you imagine flying up there in an open cockpit????? man i'm freezing just thinking about it...). The US Army established the Aviation Clothing Board in September 1917 and began distributing heavy-duty leather flight jackets; with high wraparound collars, zipper closures with wind flaps, snug cuffs and waists, and some fringed and lined with fur. Thus, the American flight jacket was born. The two most historical and well-known American flight jackets are the A-2 jacket and the G-1 that in their popularity became symbols of honor, adventure, and style and movies like Top Gun boosted sales of the G-1 tremendously, making these once-specialized jackets collector and fashion items. Now days these stylish flight jackets evolved into a style statement! Versions of the jackets include a casual  sage silk/nylon (known as the MA-1), a warm shearling version, or quilted wools although the leather bomber in black or brown with fur collar is still the classic style and if you have to pick up only one to have..... it will be that.
The bomber is the perfect jacket for all (although some styles like the down jackets can carry you well into a colder weather) and again is a jacket that can fit into almost every guy's wardrobe. This jacket will support a

Findings - Dior Homme Men's belt

W color belt from Dior Homme
WHY: I'm always on the look for cool belts, cause just like shoes belts can make a statement without being too load and in your face which is exactly what this W belt from Dior is. I love the combo of canvas and leather/suede and since its only about an inch wide it will highlight your unique sense of style in a smart way..... although i personally would have loved to see a wider versions of it, like about 1.5" wide...that would be cool as well. I love the distressed brown suede which i can see mixed nicely with a casual look in a jeans....where the red/black version holds a bit more sporty feel.
