WHY: Military+men's coat, military=men's coat, military=men's coat...and i can go on forever, cause for me  the combination of military details and men's coat is match made in heaven! Ibelieve in it so much that my everyday winter coat is a vintage US Air-force military coat (can't tell you how many compliments i got on it over the years...). Spring 2011 Must have - Military shirt

The military inspired shirt (or as GQ called it the Epaulette shirt), is the dominating spring/summer style in stores this  season....almost as if it is the new classic shirt that every guy should have in his wardrobe.
In its behalf i will say that it's a very masculine style and a great complimentary for a man's body type! The militant details like the epaulets or the front flap pockets are ones that always look good and add to it the fact that the runway shows have strongly adapted the militant inspiration, and you got yourself a winner for these up and coming hot days!
As always for me the most important part to look for in a shirt is the fit! if the shirt is big and loose than all these above masculine details will make you look like a potato bag rather than A man of style! and we obviously dont want that to happen...Go for a slim fit style or just get a smaller size, let the body of the shirt snug and hug your body and look for a higher armhole so the sleeves will not be too baggy....the fitted shoulders will enhance the impact of the epaulets adding power to your style, so when you roll up your sleeves all this hard work at the gym will pay off...check out our BOAZ shirts for a great fit!

As far as colors and fabric choices i would stay with solid colors or subtle smaller stripes and gingham/plaids patterns, it will keep your style sophisticated  which can work for both work and pleasure...stay away  from big load prints and other logos and embroideries......unless its your beach shirt.
Unless you have a fitted athletic body no need to to tack the shirt it, especially if what you'd like to put out there is a younger, cooler feel. At times a tie can be a fun addition which in that case go for a solid color shirt and a casual, cotton, fun tie.....nothing too serious and no silk please!
A military shirt will go great with jeans, or chino and depends on the style could pair with trousers as well.
One last tip - i would stay away from short sleeves and much rather roll up the sleeves...unless young and stylish is not your thing!

Todd Synder - A new men's Line

 Todd Synder the former J. Crew senior vice president of men’s design revealed his new Men's wear collection on Wednesday night in New York City.
His debut collection included 60 pieces of tailored clothing, sportswear and furnishings mixing British tailoring with American vintage sensibility. A style that is simply wearable but smart and that is truly reflects his background in the fashion world from working as a tailor’s assistant in Des Moines to his 18 years at  Polo Ralph Lauren and J. Crew among others.
Tailored pieces like the coat above along side cargo pants and jeans. Military and utility influences have their share in the big puzzle in the shape of officer’s coat, selvage chinos and aviator-inspired leather jackets.
Price points range from woven shirts at $180 and sweaters at $300-$400 to jeans at $210, a wool peacoat for $850 and three-piece suits for $1,100.
"Our customer is an all-American guy, but global. He understands great food and architecture, and we’re making luxe versions of classic items, so there are a lot of highs and lows.”  Snyder said.
I like the fact that he chose to launche the line slightly after fashion week, where hopefully he was able to get the needed attention.

WHY: How can you say no to a coat like that??? I don't think i consider that a coat...this is ART WORK! When i posted about Burberry about a year ago i was drooling about the coats Christopher Bailey showed for this fall, so finally they are available and more so they are all on SALE! (needless to say they are still not the cheapest thing around and which is very understandable after taking one quick look at this coat...The fit of this coat is just amazing!, they way its being crafted and tailored is incredible...this is a lesson in how a coat should fit. In all honesty if i would to get this coat i would probably be afraid to wear it not to damage it. A coat like that holds a look by itself everything else you would wear with it has to be subtle and clean to leave the stage this piece of art. Yes the cuffs are not functional and i would assume they are probably quite heavy and i could do with out them and i to....

 WHY: Fall is here (which means that winter is just around the corner) and fall color palate is really beautiful (if you haven't done it before take a drive to upstate NY this time of year, it is by far one of the most gorgeous views with all the red/orange leafs all over...) , its filled with rich, deep colors mostly in the red/orange range that just by looking at them almost as they are the adult and more sophisticated colors of the spring summer color palate and when it comes to materials these colors really shine in Suede, Velvet and so, the texture of these fabrics brings out the best in them. I have a short version of these boots in a blue suede from Florshiem which i really love and again the color is so vibrating in that material that it makes it so much fun to wear....these boots are a perfect stand out item, yes you might need to dare in your style to wear these but you can wear these just with jeans and a simple clean top and jacket in just a basic color and you are good to make your impact on any scene you are part of.... if you want to push it even more wear a skinny jeans and tack the bottom into these boots giving it a military twist, pair it with a trench coat and you will rock every party you go to....
